The Birthday Dog
My nephew, Christopher, threw a party for his dog, Max. It was an insane flurry of canine and child activity!

Billboard on Broadway
The old theatres are all converted to churches and swap meets, but the buildings are still beautiful.

Banana Coconut Cake
I know it doesn't look so exciting, but this cake is so good, I've made it three times this month already!

Nice Clouds
On top of the hill at Griffith Park, there's always a great view of the city. And today there were some great clouds (I think they are cirrus clouds, but don't quote me on it.).

134 and 2 Exchange
Wouldn't it be nice if L.A.'s freeways were this empty all the time? And the air was so clean and crisp as after a rain?

Cloud House
After a full day of rain, we had a lovely sunset with some fluffy clouds for just a few minutes. But long enough for me to catch the light on this one.

Bougainvillea
You would think it was Spring already, the way everything is starting to bloom around the house! I can't wait to get started on the garden--definitely a long-term project.

Leaf
I bought this poinsettia plant weeks before Xmas. Surprisingly, I haven't killed it yet, but I keep accidentally breaking off the flowers, so that now, I have 3 stems left. I hope I can keep it alive until I'm ready to plant it in my new garden, which is now just a patch of dirt, waiting.

City Hall and Palm Trees
It was another gorgeous, 80-degrees, wear-your-tank-top-and-shorts winter day in Los Angeles.

Purple
This gorgeous plant grows on the side of my house. Someone once told me the name of it, but I've already forgotten. It has a greyish, green purple color with small pink flowers that retreat when the sun sets.

Antenna, Palm, Moon
The man who lived in our house used to be a TV repair man and had put a bunch of crazy antennas on our roof. Here's one with a palm tree and the moon, right at golden hour.

Windmills
We went to the Palm Springs Film Festival (and saw a couple of interesting films) all day. But I had to stop for the windmills, which I always love seeing.

Cat in a Basket
Our dear Lulu likes to sleep in this basket. But when I got the camera out, she woke up, came over to me and started sniffing the lens. I had to coax her back into the basket for this shot. And now she purrs on my lap as I upload this.

Jesus Saves, apparently
I was a danger to myself and others taking this picture while driving. I know, I know. Not a good idea. But as you can see, I was at a red light and the lighting was so perfect and the sign and the building were so nice and it could have been worse. I saw a better composition, but didn't take the shot because I thought it would be a bad idea to do while the car was moving.

Dim Sum for starters
I'm posting a photo everyday for as long as I can stand it. I'll try to keep it interesting, as I take you on this visual journey with me.
