It's true. One of my weaknesses is fresh hot doughnuts!

I Hate Pooping
My nephews came over last week and the younger one, Benjamin, was carrying a stack of post-its. After he left, I found this in the bathroom (BTW, the bathroom is the only room in the house we haven't remodeled yet, so you can see it's the original hideous pink color from the former owners.)

Ants
I'm fascinated how ants will build their little colonies in the middle of the desert and drag little rocks and leaves for their openings. Decoration? or Function? Who can tell.

Purple Flowers
So, I tried to find the name of this damn flower, but didn't have any luck. I'm terrible with plant names, I'm afraid. But everything looks so cheerful and optimistic when photographed in bright sunlight, doesn't it?

Downtown
I remember when they built the Bonaventure Hotel and it was a big controversy. And now it looks so small next to all the huge monsters towering over it. I still like to go there every once in awhile and ride the elevators up and down until I get dizzy.

Tulips
I swear some flower seed catalog should hire me to take photos for them. Aren't these colors great?

Zero on the Bed
A cat loves nothing more than to lie on a freshly laundered bed next to some cotton socks, still warm from the dryer.

Heart Cookies
I meant to make them for Valentine's, but I was a bit late. Oh well. They are still yummy!

Clouds
Another clear-air-after-the-rains gorgeous Los Angeles day. The clouds were amazing, but I didn't have time to take the really good ones, but here's a little lens flare for those who like the nostalgic '70s feeling. Crisp!

Rice Sticks
Today was my photo shoot with my hand model (my sister) for my next cookbook proposal. I took over 300 photos and had a hard time choosing just one to share. But if the book gets picked up, I'll have many more to share later!

The Blue Room
In that grey zone between Glendale and Burbank are these small businesses that seem to have been there since the dawn of time (or at least since the '50s). I'm always attracted to the tiny, neighborhood bars with no windows.

Zero at the Window
The cat looks so pensive and serious looking out the window, but she's probably just thinking about birds to kill.

Clouds and Palm Trees
Sometimes the lighting is just perfect, it just takes a moment to get your exposure right.

My Guitar
When I was about 11 years old, my mom asked me what instrument I wanted to play. I think she was hoping that I would answer, "piano" or "violin." But I told her that I wanted to play the guitar. To her credit, she bought me one used for about $10 at a thrift store. I still play, but I used to frustrated my classical instructor because I never practice. I'm not good enough be a musician, so why practice?

One Content Cat
There's something fantastic about a cat's face close up, especially when you are petting their soft white bellies and they are purring so happily in response.

Weed Silhouette
I know this is a totally '70s photos, but I really liked the very short depth of focus and the lighting.
